This Kenya Mchana AB from Process Coffee delivers everything we love about classic washed Kenyan coffees — deep sweetness, vibrant structure, and an exceptionally clean cup.
Grown at Mchana Estate in Kiambu County, around 1850 metres above sea level, this coffee benefits from high altitude growing conditions and meticulous processing. The estate sits roughly 35km north of Nairobi and produces coffees that showcase the clarity and intensity that Kenyan coffees are known for.
This fully washed AB lot combines traditional Kenyan varieties including SL28, Ruiru 11, K7 and Batian, bringing complexity, sweetness, and balance to the cup.
Beyond quality, the estate places a strong emphasis on worker welfare and community, employing over 170 permanent staff while supporting hundreds of seasonal workers during harvest. Facilities on the estate include a crèche and daycare for workers’ children, as well as Ngewe Primary School, which serves both estate families and the surrounding community.
In the cup this coffee is round, sweet, and deeply satisfying, with notes of blackberry and fig and the vibrant clarity that Kenyan coffees are famous for.
