About

Founded by Nicholas Chester-Adams, a lifelong lover of magazines and an ardent believer that reports of print’s death are greatly exaggerated, Magazine Appreciation Society is a celebration of independent publishing in all its forms.

Formerly known as Print Culture, we’ve always been about more than just selling magazines. We believe print is an experience—something to be discovered, collected, and appreciated. Our carefully curated selection of indie magazines, zines, photo books, and print ephemera highlights the creativity, craft, and storytelling that make print culture so vital.

But our love of analogue doesn’t stop at print. Just as magazines and books remain irreplaceable in a digital world, film photography continues to thrive. That’s why we also stock a variety of camera film—from 35mm to medium format—because, like print, film lives on.

But we’re not just a shop—we’re a gathering place for magazine lovers, photographers, and creatives of all kinds. Through our events, launch parties, and workshops, we bring together a community that values independent voices, beautiful design, and the tactile joy of print.
