Will you stock my magazine/zine?
One of the questions we get asked all the time is - Will you stock my magazine/zine?
If you’ve ever wondered the same, good news—you’re in the right place. At MAS, we love discovering new independent zines and proudly stock work from all kinds of creators. If you’ve made something you’re excited about, we’d genuinely love to see it.
Here’s a quick guide to how it all works, plus a few tips to help you feel ready before you ask.
Let’s talk pricing
Pricing your zine can feel tricky, but here’s the key thing: make it sustainable. Even if making money isn’t your main motivation, your price should reflect the effort, time, and materials that went into it.
Something to keep in mind—most retailers (us included) take a 40% commission. That cut helps us cover the costs of stocking, promoting, and selling your work, while making sure you’re still fairly paid for your creativity.
Presentation matters
Print method, paper stock, binding—they all add up to the overall feel of your zine. That’s why we ask to see a finished copy in its final form. We want to experience it exactly as it would sit on our shelves (and in someone’s hands!).
How to submit your zine
The process is super simple, bring a physical copy to the newsstand, write your name, title, contact info and pricing, hand it over. If you can’t make to the newsstand, a DM on Instagram is your best way to get in touch!
What happens after
If we think your magazine/zine is a good fit, we’ll usually ask for 3-5 copies to start, on a firmed sale basis.
We can’t wait to see what you’ve been making.
